Responsible production and sustainable use of renewable resources are essential if we want to preserve the Earth as it is today. Flexpro’s new approach to printing includes a commitment to maximal sustainability and social responsibility. A FSC® Chain of Custody (CoC) certificate that we have is a way for us and our clients to go towards more mindful & nature-friendly business models.
What’s FSC® Chain of Custody Certification, and Why Is It Important?
The FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring responsible forest management and governance.
FSC® certifications showcase the organisations that assure environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests.
FSC® certifications are universally accepted for businesses and consumers to select the right forest products obtained responsibly. Although recognition of FSC® varies from country to country, about half of consumers worldwide recognise the label. FSC® data shows that 82% of them would recommend FSC® labelled products to their family or friends.
The FSC® Chain of Custody (CoC) certification ensures that FSC® labelled products originate from well-managed forests, controlled sources, or reclaimed materials. CoC covers all stages of acquisition, processing, marketing and distribution when the product owner changes in the supply chain.
FSC® CoC certificate confirms that the certified material used in production is identified or separated from non-certified or uncontrolled material throughout the production chain.
When choosing FSC® labelled products, customers receive a guarantee that the raw materials used in production come from sustainable suppliers. They can also communicate this added value to the end-users of the product.
